songs in the night...

I recently read an article in the magazine, Voice of the Martyrs. It was entitled "Songs in the Night" and was about the underground church in Iran. I was enamored with every printed word. Halfway through the story a well of tears was starting to make their way steadily down my face. These oppressed people must sing quietly so their neighbors do not hear, they must hide their Bibles or be mutilated, they must be the "underground" church - not in fear of martydom, but in hopes that if they stay quiet and go unnoticed they can continue to save many more. COURAGE. STRENGTH. DEVOTION. PURPOSE. They sing songs in the night - the same songs He sings to them. May we never take our faith for granted...and may we always share His songs to us with those around us. "By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me. A prayer to the God of my life." Psalm 42:8
