finding what you weren't searching for...

The door is shut. At least for now. You wonder and you ponder and you hope that there is something else...something better...something...anything. You were searching so hard and you believed with every ounce of your being, only to find darkness, staleness, and find a thirst that nothing could quench. You feel alone, you feel torn down and broken down. You're crushed. Then the door slowly starts to open...you see a light peeking out. You are blinded at first, then your heart starts to pound as your skin turns warm and the darkness fades. Soon - very soon - you realize there is no darkness around and there is only a light beaming through your very veins, making your skin seemingly transparent. Your searching has ended with a hope that has only been given by someone who allured you into the wilderness, into the unknown, into what you thought you were searching for, ending up finding what you weren't searching for...and realizing it is more than you could have ever dreamed. The trouble, the darkness, the pain, led you to the door of hope, led you to the song you now sing. "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness and speak kindly to her. Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor [trouble] as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth." Hosea 2:14 - 15
