be courageous and act...

"...know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever...be courageous and act." 1 Chronicles 28:9-10 Herein lies David's convicting words to his son Solomon before he was to take over the reign of King David. Be courageous and act...David understood that it wasn't enough just to have courage, but there had to be follow through, action upon the courage, otherwise complacency and defeat would ultimately consume him. The fear of having to act upon a plan, thought, wish, demand, scares me and frankly, scares most of us and makes us shutter in some instances. We run...no...we sprint in the opposite direction, fearful of having to actually DO something instead of just pray, or wait in silence for an answer or ephiphany. We fear our action will be wrong or something will go wrong or it really wasn't what we should have done, or it will be too hard...the list goes on and on. We let feelings of defeat trickle in before we have even begun, and we are left missing opportunities, losing our courage, and ultimately feeling lost in the sea of life. I pray often that I always have courage...and then the will to act on that courage...to not let the enemy consume my thoughts...to take them captive...to act. "We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ..." 2 Corinthians 10:5
